Pilatus PC-21 PNP 1100mm

The Pilatus PC-21 is an advanced single-engine trainer aircraft; it is often referred as being the “Twenty-first Century Trainer”. The PC-21 can be adapted for various training capacities, including basic flying training, advanced flight training, full mission management training, and embedded simulation/emulation. In order to perform these functions, the aircraft possesses a powerful, flexible, and cost-effective integrated training system; providing sufficient ease of use for inexperienced pilots while posing greater challenge to advanced pilots. FMS has captured these same qualities in our 1100mm PC-21.

This Plug and Play (PNP) model comes complete with everything you need, minus your own radio system and battery, to be flying quickly. Using screws for basic assembly, the average flier can have it ready for the field in an evening.

Utilizing the latest high-ratio & low-density EPO 52 foam, which reduces the airplane weight by around 15%, greatly optimizes the flying performance without weakening the plane structure. In addition, the PC-21 is painted with environmentally friendly, water-based paint that is non-corroding, and can protect the foam parts under any condition.

With its scale appearance including retracts, flaps and the 5 bladed prop, the PC-21 will surely be a hit at the field.

1 review for FMS Pilatus PC-21 PNP 1100mm (Now with Reflex)

  1. cameron dauth

Well packed, and great quality is evident as soon as you open the box. Wings come complete with flaps and retracts pre-installed at the factory. Assembly was quite easy and fairly quick, with just some minor foam shaving to force horizontal tail planes into the tight fitting plastic, fuselage mounted receptacles. For mine, balancing required around 48grams added weight up in the nose ( I like to fly a shade nose heavy ). Manual recommended COG was accurate. Wiring setup was relatively simple as this model comes with a block connect setup supplied and pre-fitted on the main wing. After a quick control check at the field, take-off was straight and uneventful. Balance felt good straight away with little to no trimming required. Power is adequate but definitely not overwhelming. Lots of torque for T/o etc, but top speed a little lacking for a 4s model. I felt it needed a prop change to a slightly higher pitch for top end, or you could opt to cut down the number of blades and go to a 2 blade performance prop to gain the most out of the motors output. Flying behaviour is nothing short of perfect. This PC-21 is absolutely rock solid in the air, even with the minor breezes present on my maiden flights. Flaps caused a fair bit of ballooning when deployed, so could require some elevator mixing if you desired. However on slowing to bring in to land with flaps fully down she settled nicely and touched down flawlessly. All in all a very good quality model has been produced by FMS here. Looks stunning on the ground and bigger than the 1100mm wingspan would suggest due to the long long long fuselage. Beautiful scale appearance and quite good value at the price point. Thanks Michael… for another winner from Wired RC.
