Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Advantage
This Bind-N-Fly Basic model is equipped with a Spektrum AS3X (Artificial Stabilization–3-aXis) receiver that works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence. The result is a sense of stability and precision that makes you feel like you’re flying a larger and expertly tuned aircraft.
If this is your first high-performance jet, or you want an extra margin of safety while familiarising yourself with the airplane, you can enable the optional-use SAFE® Select technology built into the receiver. No programming is required. Simply change up the binding sequence as directed in the manual.
With SAFE Select enabled, you get:
Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
These envelope limits keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles.
Automatic Self-Leveling
The airplane instantly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in the centre position. It’s also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs and landings.
Easy Switch Assignment—No Programming Required
The simple procedure for assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off doesn’t require any programming and takes just a few seconds.
If you don’t want to enable the SAFE Select features, just bind the receiver normally and it will function like a standard AS3X receiver.

The boring stuff first,
Quick and easy to assemble, Easy setup with Spektrum transmitter (DX9) Took about an hour and a half all up.
Can select SAFE on or Off when binding. I set SAFE up on 3 position switch (Beginner Intermediate and Off)
Quality Eflite construction and colour scheme.
Maiden off grass field (Cricket ground), retracts worked flawlessly both for take off and landing with no adverse effects, take off and landing flap settings are spot on from the manual. Set up for maiden with 6s 4000mah 60C and CG at 85mm. (Manual says between 80-90mm) Low and High rates set as per manual (70% and 100% throws) .Added 30% expo to smooth things out nicely.
With the above setup I found the Viper to fly like its on rails. In SAFE mode, very sedate and would suit as a first EDF. (Just watch your speed) With SAFE mode off, hold onto your hat!
Happily cruise around on 1/3 to 1/2 throttle and can do low and slow passes with full flaps and no bad tendencies.
High speed low passes done with ease, just make sure you stay far enough ahead as this plane really motors when you push the throttle to the stops. Looks fantastic both on the ground and in the air.
Very responsive and you don’t need high rates out of SAFE mode, low rates are more than enough with a very quick roll rate, elevator and rudder authority. Loops, Four point rolls, Immelmanns are a breeze, strong vertical climbs are a given and one of the easiest models to fly inverted.
